FAQ

1. Accepted payment methods?

We use PayPal as payment method for all orders.

2. How accurate is the color of the product on website?

To ensure that the colours displayed are true to life each product is professionally photographed. Nonetheless colours may vary slightly from one computer to another depending on the settings of the screen.

3. What are the origins of your wool?

We use yarn that is spun in Scotland by a respected family owned business that has been spinning quality yarns for over two centuries. They use both British sourced wool and lambswool fleece sourced from New Zealand and Australia. Because of the climate the warm countries have the ability to produce consistently good quality wool. The importing of the quality lambswool fleece has changed little since the Industrial Revolution, and is part of the tradition of companies perfecting products in Europe. The sheep in these countries roam in a largely free range, vast and unspoilt terrain. Both New Zealand and Australia are members of the International Wool Textile Organisation (IWTO) that has specifications for wool sheep welfare and zero tolerance for animal abuse. Also the environmental steps being taken by countries like New Zealand are creditable. They are working to become 100% carbon neutral by 2050.

4. Where does your leather come from?

The leather we use comes from Northern European suppliers and we do not use fur. For example Elk leather we use comes from the wild elks from Finland and is the side product from regulated hunting. A responsible renowned Finnish tannery that has long experience in leather manufacturing tans all our leather. They use only renewable energy sources and all chemicals used are purchased within the European Union and comply with the high European environmental standards.

5. What are the working conditions?

We choose our manufactures with care. All our products are manufactured by small independent companies in Europe and under the EU Labour Law to ensure fair labour standards.

6. What are your environmental values?

We consider operating with concern for the environment as good business practice. Therefore we make continuous efforts to minimise the environmental effects of our business by using natural raw materials from responsible suppliers, by using recycled materials for our packaging wherever possible, by carefully planning the logistics and by choosing manufacturers that share the concern for the environment. For example the traditional finishing method of milling used for our blankets is fluorocarbon free and therefore gentle on the environment. The process takes place in England and is performed by craftsmen representing a company established in 1910. The company is ISO 14001 standardised and is keen on environmental values, especially efficient water management.

7. How to track my order?

For international orders once your order is hadled and sent we will email you a tracking number.

For orders within Finland you will receive a SMS when your order is awaiting at your local Post Office or Smartpost.

8. How do I take care of my woollen blanket?

The blanket can be cleaned by airing and brushing. If for some reason you need to wash your blanket we recommend dry clean only.

9. How do I return ordered item?

Contact us at sales@finnishequestrian for further instructions. Please make sure that all the products you want to return are unused and packed neatly in their original packaging with all labels attached.
