The founders of Finnish Equestrian Company Elina and Kati share a passion for horses. From this passion and way of life rose a shared vision that materiazed into Finnish Equestrian Company in 2017.
Elina has over 15 years of prior experience from management in international companies in different sales, sourcing and supply chain positions. Her inmost area of interest is sustainability. Her passion is to develop business operations in an ethical way to optimize effect on the environment, economic development and people.
Kati is a photographer and an artist by education. She has over 15 years of experience working on creative assignments and art projects. She is passionate about visual story telling and harnessing it to materialize ideas into appealing entities whether it is an exhibition or photo book, a product family or a brand.
Our Vision
Finnish Equestrian Company offers beautiful and functional products made from natural materials for horses and dogs. Some while back we made an observation that natural materials are not fully made use of in the equestrian products. We wanted to make a change and Finnish Equestrian Company was born to fulfil this change.
Our first and foremost goal is to create design products that look and feel exceptionally magnificent on our horses and dogs. Finnish design combined with carefully selected materials and traditional manufacturing practices ensures that the products work even in the harshest of environments.
Overwhelming quality does not rise from the right words but from doing things right.
Our Responsibility
We choose our materials carefully as it is important for us that the materials we use are manufactured with respect and care for the environment. We choose manufacturers that share our values to ensure the production is done in a way that suits our ethics. We want to know our products in depth and preferable use manufacturers that have long traditions and experience in particular field. All our products are made in Europe.
Our Products
The very first products launched in 2019 are our Blankets No. 01 in Shades of Brown and No. 02 in Shades of Grey. The colours are inspired by the misty mornings of the early fall and the mid winter’s light in the Northern hemisphere where we live. Blanket No. 01 is made of Supersoft Lambswool and Blanket No. 2 has cashmere in it for extra luxury. Both yarns are spun for us in Scotland and the blankets are woven for us in England.
We will be launching more product families in 2019 such as bags for your competition luggage made with traditional waxed cotton and solid brass hardware and dog coats made of lovely and heavy organic wool twill.
